IAM 1000 – The World’s Leading Patent Professionals 2021

The branch magazine Intellectual Assets Management (IAM) has published the results of the international IAM 1000 ranking The World’s Leading Patent Professionals 2021. It is considered one of the most prestigious sources for those looking to locate world-class patent expertise and leading experts. As with previous editions, to arrive at the 2021 rankings, IAM undertook an exhaustive qualitative research project to identify outstanding firms and individuals across multiple jurisdictions. When identifying leading firms, factors such as depth of knowledge, market presence and the typical work rate were all taken into account, as well as peer and client feedback.
The selected persons can publish a profile on the iam-media.com website for a fee. However, inclusion in rankings and editorial is not connected with this. The research was conducted entirely independently of any commercial considerations. All of the companies and individuals listed in the publication are included because the market recommended it.

In the category Individuals: prosecution and nullity patent attorney Robin Keulertz, partner at Olbricht Patentanwälte, was added to the list of IAM Patent 1000 World’s Leading Patent Professionals 2021.

Mr. Keulertz guides his clients from the initial application process all the way through to the grant and registration of rights. He is dually qualified as a German and European patent attorney and is well versed in representing clients before national and European authorities. He regularly works with leading trial lawyers in the litigation of patents and other IP rights before the German regional courts. Additionally, he helps his clients monetise their IP rights by developing cooperation and licensing agreements.

Mr. Keulertz has extensive experience in drafting, opposing and defending national, European and international patent applications He works on behalf of national and international clients and advises them also on complex patent portfolio strategies. His main technical areas of expertise are the automotive sector, mechanical engineering, image processing and artificial intelligence. He holds a master’s degree in engineering from RWTH Aachen University and is a certified patent litigator from the Centre for International Intellectual Property Studies of the University of Strasbourg.

Mr. Keulertz is recommended by leading publications for his extensive knowledge in nullity actions and oppositions every year.

He is a member of the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property, the International Federation of Intellectual Property Attorneys and the Asian Patent Attorneys Association.

TOP Patent Law Firm

Olbricht Patentanwälte was named TOP Patent Law Firm 2020 by WirtschaftsWoche and has been listed in issue no. 43 in the article “Balance of Threat”.

In cooperation with the Handelsblatt Research Institute (HRI), WirtschaftsWoche asked more than 1,460 lawyers from 183 law firms about their most renowned colleagues for patent and copyright law. After evaluation by a jury of experts, 47 leading law firms for patent law in Germany prevailed.

Olbricht Patentanwälte was founded in 1967 and has continuously developed. In addition to the classic fields of science, the law firm also has expertise in modern fields such as computer science, mechatronics or life sciences. Today Olbricht Patentanwälte is a digital company with a team of around 40 specialists at four locations in Germany.

For the 12th time the Handelsblatt in cooperation with the US publisher “Best Lawyers” has identified the best lawyers in Germany in an extensive peer-to-peer process.

In the current ranking Best Lawyers in Germany 2020 of the Handelsblatt, our patent attorney Dr. Sabine Kossak is named in the field of “Intellectual Property”.

Dr. Kossak has more than two decades of experience in the field of intellectual property rights. She has been advising clients on filing and enforcing patents and on the strategic questions of patent portfolios for many years. In addition, she has is an expert in European and German design law and also advises clients in design infringement matters.

Dr. Sabine Kossak received her PhD in chemistry from the University of Hamburg. She is a member of the GRUR Committee on Design Law and the AIPPi Standing Committee “Digital Economy”
